Sorry to hear about your experience with buying second-hand Jetblue gift card. This type of scam is commonly referred to as the "back door", Top Five Gift Card Scams on eBay (Refer to #4). Unfortunately, Jetblue gift cards do not have a PIN or password, which would have helped in preventing this type of scam. When you receive the second-hand gift card, check the balance immediately and spend it soon. If problems do occur, you have a better chance of settling this with the buyer. In addition, when buying from eBay, use a credit card and not PayPal funds to purchase the second-hand gift card. Credit card companies offer better protection than PayPal.

I bought a $200 Jetblue gift card for $151 on eBay in February. Now, a couple months later, the gift card has no balance. I assume the seller redeemed the card himself after selling it to me. I'm not eligible for PayPal protection because the gift card is intangible good. I feel, least to say, pretty dumb, disappointed in humanity, and don't recommend purchasing a JetBlue gift card second-hand. The card doesn't have any kind of password or PIN that you can change, JetBlue doesn't recognize second-hand owners with no original proof of purchase, and again, this kind of purchase isn't protected by PayPal.
